#ActivateYourEvents

What have we been up to?

2016 is a distant memory and the first two months of 2017 have ensured our office has been a hive of activity as our team organised and delivered 14 events in destinations ranging from Manchester to Madrid and Brighton to Barcelona… as well as various other locations around the world. Here is a brief showcase of some of those most recent events.

BARCELONA
ENGINEERING WORLDWIDE CONFERENCE

A three-day annual technical conference for an engineering company, with conference, demonstrations, a poster exhibition, and parallel sessions.
This conference took place at the 5* NH Hesperia Tower hotel in Barcelona, beginning with a welcome drink reception in the glass dome on the 24th floor at sunset.

The 150 delegates then got to explore the sights and sounds of Barcelona while partaking in a team-building GPS activity, ending the evening enjoying a traditional tapas dinner at a unique restaurant venue in the City.
The conference and exhibition ran for the following two days, with live demonstrations of engineering equipment and a presented poster display running during the coffee and lunch breaks.

BERLIN
BUSINESS SERVICES EMEA FORUM

A bi-annual senior client forum and conference for sharing best practice and industry updates across the business services sector of the European, Middle East and African telecommunications industry.
The Waldorf Astoria in Berlin was selected as a suitable venue, guaranteeing high quality, accommodation and meeting space and ensuring easy delegate access.

The event needed to be fully digital and to reflect the future-focused nature of the programme, we created a bespoke projection-mapped stage set featuring an immersive and dynamic visual experience for all 180 delegates. We also created and managed the gala dinner at the Classic Remise, Germany’s premier vintage and heritage car centre.

BRIGHTON
FINANCIAL SERVICES ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Having run this event for the last 9 years, we worked with the client team to create something different both for the conference and party elements of this event. Working with the client’s team, we developed the theme “Ahead of the Curve” which provided a strong platform for creative development and message delivery.

The Hilton Brighton Metropole was the chosen venue and we installed a 25m set incorporating a 17m blended projection system to enable multiple media elements to be viewed simultaneously. This included PowerPoint, video, voting/texting and live-camera to support a range of different presentation formats.

Our spectacular ‘Grease’ themed party (achieved after a hectic 2-hour turnaround) included bespoke theatrical performances from the West End cast with the venue transformed into a fun fair, complete with dodgems, stalls and an 1950s American Diner, all rounded off with a 13-piece soul band to dance the night away.

ACTIVATE AT IBTM

As we closed out 2016 and in preparation for a busy 2017, three of the Activate Team flew to Barcelona to attend IBTM World which is the annual leading global trade show for the conference and events industry. The event gathers over 15,500 industry professionals, meeting with representatives from over 150 countries and 3,000 leading brands so it represents a valuable opportunity to expand and refine product knowledge and develop business opportunities.
This is just one example of the many ways we are continually working to ensure our team are equipped with the latest industry knowledge, to ensure the best possible planning and delivery of your event, and drive the Activate business into the future.
