Every year for the past 5 years we have been tasked with creating a once-in-a-life-time reward experience to incentivise our client’s top global sales performers.
We approach this challenge firstly by ensuring we remain consistent with the historic quality and prestige nature of the event, i.e. the hotels we recommend are always highly aspirational and are globally renowned for having the finest hospitality. We then create a programme that is uniquely different, inspiring, jaw-dropping & head-turning – a programme that instils life-long memories and a strong desire to remain part of this elite group of top sales performers.
Last year comprised five luxurious nights at the five-star St Regis Hotel in Rome with an exclusive programme which included a private evening at the Vatican Museum and a self-drive car rally through the city in convertible Vintage Spider Cars… complete with Police escort.
A truly great week that everyone will remember for years to come.
In order to create another unique experience for this year’s programme, we proposed South Africa as the perfect destination for turning dreams into reality.
First a programme, like a story, must have a captivating beginning, an exciting middle and a great ending, so we set the scene with 2 nights in Cape Town, staying at the magnificent Table Bay Hotel, which is perfectly located on the waterfront with the iconic Table Mountain as the backdrop.
In the middle, we created a programme of once-in-a-lifetime experiences including a welcome cocktail reception at the summit of Table Mountain as the sun set over the city, a Harley Davidson motorbike rally from Cape Town, with guests riding pillion as they explored the stunning coastline, taking in Hout Bay, Simonstown and all the way down to the Cape Peninsula.
We used our magic to transform the blank canvas of the Waterfront Lookout into a stunning location for a glamourous awards dinner which brought our Cape Town experience to a rapturous conclusion before our guests departed via a private charter flight for a 3-day safari in the Pilanesberg National Game Reserve.
For the following 3 days, the group enjoyed guided safaris, spa treatments, cocktails by the pool, performances by an African choir as well as having the opportunity to participate in African Tribal Dancing and try their hand at African Drumming, all from the comfort of their own exclusive game lodge.
And as for our ‘great ending’, well what better way to say farewell than with a private hot air balloon safari – with Champagne of course – and set against a stunning sunrise over the Pilanesberg reserve.
The trip was an outstanding success and we’ve listed below just a handful of the verbatim comments that guests shared with us in the post-event feedback survey:
The hot air balloon trip was one of the items on my ‘bucket list’, but all the activities were great.
Too difficult to nail just one favourite bit down. Each day was amazing. Great job.
The Awards Dinner entertainment, the bubble music. And the safari overall amazing.
Table Mountain, this was such perfect views and an awesome way to start the trip. Second was the hot air balloon. Again, an excellent way to end the trip.
This is so hard to say! If I have to pick one, it would be the hot air balloon safari. But the motorcycle tour to the Cape of Good Hope is a close second!
It was truly a once in a lifetime trip! The hot air balloon was probably my favourite. The ride to Cape of Good Hope was a close second!
Hard to pick one: The Harley ride in Cape Town, Hot Air Balloon in Pilanesberg, daily safaris.
Sorry but no favourite at all, because the whole trip was just great. If we really had to pick one, we would say the Game Drive.
Needless to say the client was delighted and we are now in the midst of putting together the programme in the chosen destination for 2018…..Vietnam and Cambodia!
